My watchers, you may have heard that I am working on my own Horsemen of the Apocalypse series as a continuation of this painting.

In the mean time this idea came up and I thought to would be adorable to draw out.

Think of this as a little preview of how the other three will look like in full in the future.

This is wonderful, I love the concept of the four horsemen and this seems to result in an interesting version of them

I love how conquest and war are a married couple here.

War, Conquest, Death, and Famine? Very good by the way, the blushes on War and Famine and contented squinty eyes on Conquest are very cute.

One of Pestilence would be cool to see as well.

They do have several names, but I settled for the lineup of War, Death, Plague, and Famine. Pestilence, which is Plague if I remember correctly, is the Plague doctor third from left to right. In fact if you see the thumbnail in the artist's comments you'll see the full painting of Plague.
However I did not get to paint the other three fully yet, that is the surprise :meow: Thank you for commenting~

Yeah Plague and Pestilence are one in the same according to Microsoft Word Dictionary. The Black and Crow wings threw me a bit, as I'm used to seeing artists go that route when depicting Death.
This makes me wish you would do a pic of Conquest as well. I know people prefer to go with The 'Four' Horsemen but it always bums me out when a magnificent artist leaves Conquest or Pestilence out of The Horsemen.
I saw the full picture of Plague, and it was brilliant. Very much looking forward to full pics of the other three.

Oh the bird above Death is a crow as I associate crows with corpses as they are often depicted pecking on corpses. However, I would think that Conquest would logically fit better with the concept of War? Usually whoever wins the war conquers the loser, their land, belongings, etc. I would think so at least.
Anyhow, I am glad you enjoyed the artwork. :D

Ah.

See I associated the Horsemen of war with the actual horror that occurs during war(Destruction, Hatred, Strife, Man brutalizing his fellow man, etc...). Whereas the Horsemen of Conquest always seemed to represent what would come after(Slavery, Plundering, Seizure of land, Abolishing basic Human Rights, Reducing those who lost to second class citizens, etc...).

oooh That is quite a fascinating way to put it. I can see it now. They could be one, but they could also be two. Interesting. :meow:
