A new Transformers Prime Original Character Design inspired simply by the name we've aquired on the Transformers Universe website; the Decepticon Crushclaw

Alternative form is a V-SS Osprey Helicopter

LOVE how powerful he looks! :D The alt mode is a nice choice too. Reminds me a whole lot like Lugnut if he ever appeared in the show.

Oh DAAAMMNN! :iconwoahplz:

This guy looks like he could be an actual TF: Prime character. And of course his name is incredibly apt with those enormous hands (if my suspicions are correct and his arms become the wings, where do those hands go?).

Well done mate, an really nice OC design that makes me so wish I could draw Quaketread (My Tank Decepticon OC) anywhere near as good as this.

Your compliment has been logged with great appreciation. Thank you for you input.
His hands transfer to be part of the inside and underside of the wings of the Osprey. When drawing Original Characters whether for personal use or derived from existing medias, skill and quality design must come together in unison for a better outcome.

Hands becoming the underside kinda makes sense, it's certainly better than some of the designs I've seen (assuming they thought that far ahead).

And I agree about skill and quality design, a trick I used is to start with the Alt Mode and work my way through the transformation bit by bit to make sure everything became important parts. I can think it up well enough but I have shaky hands so I can't draw to save my life (trying 3D modelling soon to see if that works).

Designing an entire Transformation is quite difficult and requires significant processing to use it as a checkpoint for designing a character. Priority is on the robot and vehicle form of the Cybertronian that way you typically have two checkpoints to work between when later designing a transformation.

If there is no robot form designed for the vehicle form to become, what are you transforming into?

Quaketread does turn into a robot, what I meant was I start with his MLRS Vehicle Mode and by working through the transformation bit by bit, I can not only remove the possibility of an impossible transformation, I can make sure important things become important things, like how the Cabin becomes shoulder armour and the tracks fold up into his legs and such,

The base idea for his form was already there, but by doing this trick, I can improve upon it and make sure everything is as it should be.

You misunderstood me. We are advising against designing a robot from a transformation since the transformation largely depends on what the robot will look like.

The Transformer is already done, the design is implemented and has been refined multiple times. There was always a basic idea as to what I wanted Quaketread to look like, but starting from the Vehicle Mode made sure both modes lined up nicely. As a result, I've avoided any and all resizing or partsforming, which is common among less skilled OC creators (assuming they even thought about a form at all, which is depressingly rare).
